Award-winning graphic design from Alan Wellburn
Hello—I’m Alan Wellburn, a graphic designer specialising in Film and TV graphics. Since 2023 I’ve worked on productions across the UK, creating everything from hand-painted signage and period-accurate packaging to large-scale set dressing and digital screen graphics. I enjoy the challenge of bringing authenticity to fictional worlds, whether that means researching historical references or inventing something completely new that feels real on camera.
Before moving into Film and TV, I spent over 20 years in commercial design. I worked as a Design Manager at Oxford University Press and ran my own design agency for over a decade, delivering branding, print and digital projects for clients including Amnesty International, Friends of the Earth and ActionAid. That background gave me a strong foundation in communication, typography and production, which I now bring into the fast-paced world of film graphics.
Alongside design, I also work as a digital artist. My paintings combine traditional influences with modern tools, and some have been adapted for use on screen—printed on canvas, finished by hand and used as set dressing in television productions.
I work anywhere in the UK and enjoy collaborating closely with art departments and production teams to find practical, creative solutions that look great on screen.
